Ornaments and Signs

I make these items with a small diode laser. I am able to etch many materials, including some types of metal, glass, tile, and wood. I can only cut very thin wood, up to 1/8th of an inch. I don't have many specific products for sale at this time, but the images below give you a sense of the kinds of things that can be done. If you are looking for something in particular, let's talk.

Examples of Laser cutting

This cake topper is made from 1/8" birch plywood, and is about 18cm wide, and is made for someone that is going to be one soon, and already loves camping! It could be used as is, or painted. Note that is is advised to put the stake inside a plastic straw or plastic wrap before inserting in the cake. Another example of a custom cut.

These are wooden product tags made for a knitware designer to be stitched onto garments she designs and makes. The nickel is to give a sense of the size, and the detail that can be put onto products.

You didn’t come this far to stop

This is an example of etching I can do on glass with the laser. The laser actually makes tiny crystalized fractures in the glass, so the etching is permanent and will never fade or wash off.

It is also a sample of the chokecherry syrup (which is amazing) that I make from berries we pick on our lot at the Sherwood Forest Golf and Country Club (a park just west of Regina). Our lot is right beside the Wascana Creek, and we have named our site in part because we are beside the creek, and in part because of the sound our bodies make when we get out of bed in the morning.
