About CrazMade

CrazMade Creations is a small company run by myself, Gerry Craswell, in Regina, Saskatchewan. My love of woodworking was born from a combination of growing up on a farm and watching my Dad, who could pretty much make or fix anything and was always willing to give something a try, and my experience in shop class in high school. I have been making things for myself and my family for almost 40 years, and have recently been expanding that to making things for others, especially since I got into woodturning in about 2017.

I have recently retired from a career in education, and am devoting much more time on my craft. My most recent endeavor involved the purchase of a small diode laser, which allows me to cut thin wood, and to etch and engrave on a variety of materials and products. There are two ways to do business with CrazMade Creations - either I make something, and then you buy it, or you ask me to make you something, and then I make it for you to your specifications.

Gerry Craswell

I have been making things from wood for almost 40 years, and still have both eyes and all my fingers, so that's something! Besides woodworking, I have lots of other interests and passions.

I was a high school science and math teacher for 17 years, and while I was doing that I got a degree in Technology and Information Management from the University of Late Nights. I got very interested in technology, particularly using computer applications effectively. This has brought me to my interest in using a laser to create and enhance my creations.

I am also an avid golfer, curler, backpacker, camper, traveller, craft beer consumer and got to be a bit of a political junkie during my 20 years working for the Ministry of Education. Over the past three years I have started playing guitar. I am far from "ready for prime time" but love plinking away at it. My kids will tell you I have a sad sense of humour, but they are wrong.

I am married to Karen, who is very creative, is a master knitter, and starting her own knitwear design business. Between the two of us we have eight children and six grandchildren. Needless to say, I am not bored in retirement!!
