How is it October 2025 already?

How time flies when you are having fun! I have to admit that updating my website is not something that I have worked into my routine yet, but this week I made the effort to get back at it and hopefully I will get at this more often. You often hear about how busy you are after you retire - the cliche is "I don't know how I ever had time to do a job". In lots of ways its true, but my "busy" now is a lot different than my "busy" when I was working. I have something to do every single day - lots of things are scheduled (appointments, meetings, activities), and when nothing is scheduled there are jobs around the house, errands that can be run, and of course I can ALWAYS find something to do in my shop or my "studio".

I do my woodworking in my garage where I have all my tools. We have a two car garage, and one vehicle, and it is pretty crowded. Some of my tools are on wheels - table saw, thickness planer, and a flattening sander get moved around a lot. My bandsaw, lathe and workbenches are also all on wheels and can be moved around, but they usually stay put. My most recent additions are a floor model drill press (replaced a 10" bench model), a Flatmaster drum sander (not really a thickness sander, but works great for flattening cutting boards), and a spindle sander.

My "studio" is a spare bedroom in the basement - that is where I do a lot of my glueups, its where my XTool S1 40W laser is, and it is where I do all my finishing and painting. We also have a photography set up with back drop and lights that can be set up in there, but we really don't do that very often.

For the baseball fans out there - tonight is Game 7 of the Blue Jays and Mariners series - what a night it would be to be in Rogers stadium in Toronto - if they can win this game that place will explode!! Go Jays !!
